SARASOTA, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team wrapped up the 39th Annual Pat Bradley Invitational today, Oct. 25, on Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club's par-72, 6,288-yard Cypress Lakes Course. The team finished the event in seventh-place with a final round 301 after shooting back-to-back 298s on the first two days of competition.
Senior Kesley Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) had another strong outing, shooting a final-round 73 to finish with a three-round total of 217, which put her in a tie for ninth-place. The top-10 finish marks the eighth of her career, and her third of the season. Behind Murphy, junior Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne) had a solid third day, matching her first round score with a 75 to finish 24th overall with a total score of 223.
Freshman Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne) shot a 79 in the third round, putting her final score at 228 and into a tie for 36th-place. Sophomore Kritsuda Apiwatthanadol (Bangkok, Thailand-Somtawin Witead Suska Huaymongkhon School) finished the event in a tie for 63rd after shooting an 81 on the final day of competition, putting her three-day total at 236. Finally, sophomore Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) posted a big improvement over her first two days, notching a final round 74 to finish in a tie for 67th at 237 overall.
This marks the conclusion of the team's fall season. The Eagles will resume action in February, taking part in Mid-American Conference match play, Feb. 13, down in Florida.
