Hansen joins five other Eagles invited to NFL mini-camps


YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University football's offensive lineman Lincoln Hansen (Omaha, Neb.-Millard North) has been invited to the Detroit Lions rookie mini-camp this weekend.  The six EMU players headed to NFL mini-camps is tied with the University at Buffalo for the second-most in the Mid-American Conference.

In total, one-third of EMU's 2014 senior class will be taking part in workouts this weekend including quarterback Rob Bolden (Orchard Lake, Mich.-Orchard Lake St. Mary's-Penn State-Louisiana State), defensive back Willie Creear (Seattle, Wash.-Lindbergh-Butte JC), running back Bronson Hill (Grand Rapids, Mich.-Catholic Central), defensive back Kevin Johnson (McKeesport, Pa.-McKeesport) and tight end Tyreese Russell (Chicago, Ill.-Walther Lutheran).     

Both Bolden and Russell will be taking part in the Lions' mini-camp along side Hansen.

Recently named a 2015 National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society member, Hansen appeared in 46 games over his EMU career, starting in the on the offensive line 39 times. Hansen was named the squad's 2013 Harold E. Sponberg Lineman Scholar-Athlete while earning All-MAC Third Team accolades. In his senior season he was also one of 13 Eagles to make the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team with a 3.33 GPA.
