Scott and Fink Qualify for NCAA Championships

Scott finishes second in the triple jump, Fink places 11th in the 5000m
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (EMUEagles.com)—Eastern Michigan University's men's track and field team ended the NCAA East Regional, qualifying two Eagles to the NCAA Championships on June 10-13.
Returning to the national stage for the third time in the outdoor campaign will be Donald Scott (Apopka, Fla.-Apopka), who is the defending national runner-up indoors in the triple jump. Scott easily secured his bid to the NCAA Championships as he finished second with a jump of 16.19 meters/53 feet 1.50-inches.
Joining Scott will be Willy Fink (Maumee, Ohio-Maumee) in his first appearance on the national stage. After just missing out on qualifying in the 3000m steeplechase last night, Fink secured the ninth-fastest qualifying time in the 5000m run. The redshirt-sophomore finished sixth in his heat and 11th overall in 13:59.22 to punch his ticket to Eugene.
Also competing on the final day was Keith Williams (Sherman, Ill.-Williamsville) and the two relay teams. Williams took 41st in the shot put with a toss of 16.46 meters/54 feet, while the 4x100m and 4x400m relays took 18th and 17th, respectively. The lineup of Kevin Snead (Richmond, Va.-George Wythe), Cameron Bolton (Missouri City, Texas-Hightower), Matthew Williams (Moreno Valley, Calif.-Vista del Lago), and Pedro Delgado (Southfield, Mich.-Brother Rice) in the 4x100m relay crossed the line in 40.28 seconds, while the 4x400m quartet of Bolton, Tyler Brown (Findlay, Ohio-Findlay), Jason Ervin (Farmington Hills, Mich.-Farmington), and Williams clocked in at 3:08.24.
Fink and Scott will join Solomon Ijah as the Green and White's representatives at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene Ore., June 10-13.
