COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (EMUEagles.com) -- The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and EAS Sports Nutrition announced that a trio of Eastern Michigan University student-athletes earned the distinction of being a 2015 All-American Athlete Award recipient. The award recognized wrestling's Anthony Abro, men's track and field's Anthony Jones, and football's Pat O'Connor and their athletic accomplishments as well as their dedication to strength and conditioning. Nominated by EMU Director of Sports Performance Ron McKeefery, the three athletes' determination to improve in athletics while maintaining academic prominence is a great model for all student-athletes at EMU.

"We are proud to have Coach McKeefery join the NSCA in its mission to safely improve athletic performance," said Coach Scott Caulfield, the NSCA's Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. "Supporting our student-athletes like Abro, Jones, and O'Connor guarantees a stronger future for the NSCA."

Coach McKeefery added, "We are very proud and excited to have these three student-athletes represent Eastern Michigan University as 2015 NSCA All-Americans. They are shining examples of athletic success being directly proportional to their offseason preparation."
