Complete Schedule of Events
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's women's track and field team will remain in-state for the weekend's competition, taking on the field at the 49th Annual Hillsdale College Gina Relays, Friday and Saturday, April 24-25.
The Hillsdale Gina Relays, held at Ken Herrick Outdoor Track, is a large annual meet that attracts over 1,000 athletes to Hillsdale, Mich. The meet was renamed in honor of former Hillsdale standout and NAIA cross country champion Gina Van Laar, who tragically passed away in an auto accident in 1996.
Friday's events will kick off on the track with the 100m hurdles at 2 p.m. with the running events concluding at 9:00 p.m. with the "GINA" 10,000m championship race. On the field, the long jump and shot put will start things off on Friday at 1 p.m., and the hammer throw, high jump, and pole vault championship will also be contested throughout the afternoon. Saturday will feature just two events for the Green and White, with the 1500m starting at 1:20 p.m. while the 800m championship race will begin at 3:05 p.m.
