The EMU women's tennis team is set to take on Miami and Northern Illinois
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team will continue the 2014-15 campaign this weekend, when the Eagles (5-11, 1-2 MAC) take on Miami University, April 3, and then Northern Illionis University, April 5. Dependant upon weather, the matches will be played at the Claudia Wasik Tennis Complex, however if the temperatures are too cold or there is rain in the forecast, the squads will move the matches inside the Chippewa Club.
Coming off of 2014 Mid-American Conference regular season and tournament championships, Miami (9-6, 4-0 MAC) is currently perfect in MAC dual matches. Overall in the Eagles and RedHawks' program history, the Green and White is just 6-32 in the 38 matches between the two squads. In fact, EMU has dropped its last 10 matches against Miami. The Eagles have not defeated MU since April 2, 2005 when they came away with a 5-2 victory in Ypsilanti. Eastern is looking to avenge a pair of losses from last season, including a 2-4 decision in the 2014 MAC Tournament Championship match.
Eastern's all-time series with Northen Illinois (11-4, 2-1 MAC) is a similarly lopsided affair, however it is the Eagles who own a 27-6 edge in the series. EMU has won its last four matches against the Huskies, including a 6-1 victory last year in DeKalb, Ill.
