EMU Basketball 2015-16 Radio Coverage Plans Announced

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Basketball season is back, and the radio coverage plans for Eastern Michigan University are now set.
WEMU will continue to serve as the FM flagship and originating station for EMU men's and women's basketball broadcasts. In 2014-15, WEMU broadcast more than 50 live games, as well as interviews and stories during WEMU's news programs. Listeners in eight counties can catch Eagles' games on 89.1 FM. As a public radio station with a large broad-based audience, WEMU's signal extends from Washtenaw County to the Detroit metropolitan and Toledo, Ohio markets
Game coverage begins 10 minutes prior to tipoff and includes comments from the head coach, a recap of the previous game and an opponent preview.
Eighth-year 'Voice of the Eagles' Chad Bush returns to call all the action both home and away. EMU Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations Sean Hostetter will provide color commentary for men's contests while EMU Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations Greg Steiner will team up with Bush during women's games.
In total, WEMU will air 28 regular season men's games to go along with 18 women's contests. A limited number of games will not be broadcast due to programming conflicts or overlapping game schedules. The first women's broadcast is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 17, against Hillsdale College, while the first men's game is Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Oakland University. Airtime for both games is 6 :50 p.m.
All broadcasts are available live and on-demand online on WEMU.org as well as EMUEagles.com. The games are also on the WEMU app which is available for free via the iTunes or Google Play stores.
Additionally, for the first time in school-history all home basketball games will appear on ESPN3. 97.1 WXYT-FM "The Ticket" and WWJ "Newsradio 950" sports anchor Ryan Wooley will handle the play-by-play duties for both the men's and women's games.
