Qualifying Round Draw Set for ITA All-American Championships

Andrea Martinovska and Klara Supejova will take on a doubles team from Baylor

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. (EMUEagles.com) – After being bumped up from the pre-qualifying to the qualifying round of the 2015 Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) All-American Tennis Championships last week, the Eastern Michigan University doubles team comprised of Andrea Martinovska and Klara Supejova have received their draw for the opening match Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

EMU's top doubles team will square off with Baylor University's Blair Shankle and Kiah Generette in its first round match at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. With a victory in their first match, Martionvska and Supejova would square off with the winner of the match between the No. 8-seeded duo from Oklahoma State Katarina Adamovic and Vladica Babic and Memphis'  Hanna Sohn and Anki Wind. That match would be played Wednesday morning, Oct. 7.

Tuesday's match will the first time an Eagle has competed in the qualifying round since 2007, when that year's Mid-American Conference Player of the Year Vanessa Frankowski earned a spot. Heading into the the draw, Frankowski was ranked No. 70 in the country and dropped her opening round match before winning a pair of matches in the consolation round.
