Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at Crooked Stick Intercollegiate

CARMEL, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – Led by freshman Beau Breault (Howell, Mich.-Hartland), the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team finished seventh at the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate, Tuesday, Oct. 13. Breault improved upon his performance from one week ago, as he finished in a tie for 14th place, notching a two-day total of 225 (75-76-74).
The Eagles shot a 301 to finish the two-day invite with a total of 914 (314-299-301). Illinois (297-279-290=866) managed to hold off Purdue (292-293-300=885) in the final round and claim the team title, while Charlie Danielson of Illinois finished first individually with a final score of four-under par 212 (75-67-70). The only other finisher under par was Tyler McDaniel of Kentucky, who finished at one-under par 215 (67-67-81).
In addition to Breault, the Green and White were paced by senior Brett White (Caledonia, Mich.-East Kentwood), as he finished in a tie for 23rd after posting a 230 (78-79-73). Just behind White was sophomore Nic Ross (Dundas, Ontario, Canada-Highland Secondary) with a three-day total of 231 (81-74-76), which put him in a tie for 27th. Two strokes behind the sophomore was junior Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) in a tie for 34th with a score of 233 (80-75-78). Junior Joey Kremer (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-St. John's College) ended in a tie for 47th with a final score of 239 (82-74-83).
The tournament marked the last one of the fall for the Eagles. The spring campaign gets under way in February when the squad travels to Dade City, Fla., to compete in the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play Tournament, Feb. 8-9. Stay tuned to EMUEagles.com for more information.
