EMU Football Lands 13 Eagles on Academic All-MAC Team

Eagles are tied for the third-most student-athletes out of all MAC institutions
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- The 2014 Eastern Michigan University football team has 13 student-athletes representing the Green and White on the 2014 Mid-American Conference Football Academic All-MAC Team, the conference announced Tuesday, Jan. 27. The 13 Eagles on the list are tied with Bowling Green State University, Ohio University and the University of Tolee for the third-most out of all MAC institutions.

In total 135 student-athletes were named to the 2014 Academic All-MAC team.
The Academic All-MAC team replaces the Academic All-MAC Honorable Mention distinction awarded in previous years. Taking place of the Academic All-MAC accolade is the Distinguished Scholar-Athlete honor, which will be announced later this year. To qualify for this year's Academic All-MAC team, a student-athlete must hold a grade point average of at least 3.20. Also, the student-athlete needs to have played in at least 50 percent of the season's contest. Freshman and incoming transfers are not eligible for the accolade.
