Football to Feature Live Bald Eagle at Home Games

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University football team will feature a live Bald Eagle from the Leslie Science & Nature Center (LSNC) for fans to interact with at all 2014 home football contests. The Bald Eagle will be available for fans to interact with before the game and during half time at every home game in the 2014 campaign.

The Bald Eagle is a powerful embodiment of majesty, strength and freedom which perfectly portrays EMU student-athletes as well as students, staff, and fans. The Green and White's own live eagle will have a significant presence in the 2014 season as it will be at the Turn It Up, Turn it Green Pep Rally on game days before making its way to the top of Rynearson Stadium for a pre-game flight fans won't want to miss.

EMU's Bald Eagle will make its final appearance at the end of halftime where fans can take photos with her at the Convocation Center. Fans will not only get the chance to take photos with the Bald Eagle, but also hear her story and interact with her following halftime at The Factory.

Eastern Michigan has worked closely with LSNC over the years to bring the Bald Eagle to EMU home games to take flight after the National Anthem, but the 2014 season will mark the first time that fans are able to interact with her and take pictures with this majestic creature that embodies the spirit of EMU football.

Fans can catch EMU's Bald Eagle and the rest of the Eagles kick off the 2014 season at home against Morgan State, Aug. 30, which will be the first game on the new "EMU Gray" FieldTurf inside Rynearson Stadium.
