Volleyball and men's golf man phone lines in annual pledge drive
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's volleyball and men's golf teams devoted some of their time to volunteering in WEMU's annual pledge drive, March 13-20.
WEMU (89.1 FM) is a public radio that provides local news as well as coverage of Eastern's athletic events, and survives solely on donations from its listeners and sponsors. The station puts on a pledge drive every year to raise fund, and this year the drive was able to pull in over $190,000 over the course of a week, including a surge of nearly $50,000 on the final day.
The volleyball team manned the lines from 2-5 p.m. on Friday, March 14 and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, while the men's golf team took pledges from on Thursday, March 20.
