Eastern heads to DeKalb, Ill. for the last match of 2014
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University's women's tennis team will travel to DeKalb, Ill. for its regular season finale Saturday, April 19, to square off with Northern Illinois University. The Eagles (12-8, 5-2 MAC) will finish no lower than third in the Mid-American Conference standings with a victory versus NIU.
Last season, the Green and White hosted the Huskies, April 13, 2013, at the Chippewa Club. Eastern cruised to a 6-1 victory after winning five singles matches and the doubles point. In the overall series, EMU holds a 27-6 advantage and is on a three-match winning streak after claiming 15 of the last 16 matchups between the two institutions. Klara Supejova, Nino Mebuke, Daphne Friedrichs, Zsofia Biro and Mariya Toncheva came away with singles wins, while EMU swept the doubles matches.
