Ward Named Hustlebelt.com's Fifth Best Player in the MAC

HustleBelt.com counted down the top-25 players in the conference
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University men's basketball senior forward Karrington Ward (Lockport, Ill.-Lockport Township (Moraine Valley C.C.)) was named the fifth-best player in the Mid-American Conference according to Hustlebelt.com.
Last season, his first with Eastern Michigan, Ward was not only an offensive threat for EMU by leading the team in scoring, but his defnesive play stood out for EMU as well. The Lockport, Ill. native averaged 1.4 steals per game along with 0.7 blocks per contest. Those 1.4 steals per game ranked 13th in the Mid-American Conferences, while he was one-of-three Eagles in 2014 to accumulate 25-or-more blocks. In addition to his off the ball defending, the six-foot-seven inch forward led the squad in rebounding at 6.4 per contest. On the defensive glass, Ward posted 5.1 rebounds per game.
Hustle Belt continues its countdown to the 2014-15 basketball season by listing its top-25 players in the MAC. The Eagles begin their season in just five days. The season opener will take at the Convocation Center, when the Green and White will host Saint Francis (Ill.) University Friday, Nov. 14, at 1:30 p.m. to kick off the 2014-15 season.
