The open 8 team earned a 14th-place finish in its lone race of the weekend

CHATANOOGA, Tenn. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University rowing team concluded its fall season at the Head of the Hooch Sunday, Nov. 2. After Saturday's events were cancelled due to high winds in the Chattanooga area, the Eagles raced just one boat in Sunday's events.

The open 8 boat consisting of Tauan Jeffrey, Ashley Gilmore, Emily Kent, Lindsay Davis-Brady, Krista Burdick, Lyndsey Tollas, Christine Grilliot, Sidney Doss, and Caitlyn Maguire placed 14th overall, crossing the line at 17:10.50.

The University of Oklahoma secured the win in a time of 16:05.70, while Clemson came in second with a time of 16:22.00. Oklahoma's B boat grabbed the final top three spot finishing at 16:23.10.

It was disappointg that the wind yesterday cancelled the racing for the Novice 8+ and the Varsity 4's, but it was great to see the Varsity 8 close 30 seconds of the gap to first place," said Head Coach Kemp Savage. "Today's race was another huge step for EMU rowing."

The Green and White will start its hunt for a Colonial Athletic Association Championship when it opens up its spring season Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Clemson Scrimmage.
