DEXTER, Mich. (EMUEagles.com)—Eastern Michigan University's men's cross country team finished up its regular season slate, competing in the EMU Fall Classic, Oct. 24. The event was not scored, and the Green and White ran nine harriers in the home race.
Senior Cameron Trinh (Oakland, Calif.-Skyline) paced the Green and White with a 15th-place finish in 15:31.7. Trinh shaved over 15 seconds off his time from last year's EMU Fall Classic and moved up 10 spots from his finish a season ago. One more Eagle finished in the top-20, as Cody Brizzolara (Maine, N.Y.-Maine-Endwell) took 19th in 15:37.7.
The next two Eagles to cross the line were Caleb Hess (Owosso, Mich.-Owosso) and Nick McFarland (Hillsborough, N.J.-Hillsborough), who finished the 5,000-meter course in 16:05.2 and 16:08.2, respectively. The fifth finisher was Stephen Sparks (Lancaster, Ohio-Lancaster), who just missed out on a top-50 placement in 16:20.0.
The four remaining runners to close out the race were paced by Scott Bradley (Battle Creek, Mich.-Lakeview), who made a hard sprint at the finish to overtake teammate Abel Flores (Defiance, Ohio-Defiance). The pair finished in 16:35.4 and 16:36.3. Tom Jozwiak (Southgate, Mich.-Thomas J. Anderson) ran in his first race donning the Green and White, notching a mark of 17:21.5, while Danny May (Wyandotte, Mich.-Roosevelt) rounded out the Eagles' lineup in 17:43.6.
Next on the slate is the 2014 Mid-American Conference Championships. The squad will travel to Mount Pleasant, Mich. Saturday, Nov. 1 in hopes of accomplishing the second five-peat of championship titles in program history. The men's race will start at noon following the women's race.
