Pentathletes and distance runner will compete in Findlay Classic
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's women's track and field team will send a small group to Findlay, Ohio during the team's off-week. Head Coach Sue Parks plans on submitting a group of five pentathletes and one distance runner to compete in the Findlay Classic, Friday, Jan. 24.
Taking part in the pentathlon will be seniors Sarah Chauchard (Montpellier, France-University of Montpellier), Pauline Chiariglione (Ajaccio, France-University of Nice), and Kate Wolanin (Oxford, Mich.-Oxford), along with freshmen Kristina Coyne (Pittsburgh, Penn.-Chartiers Valley) and Natalie Uy (Kettering, Ohio-Fairmont). Incumbent Mid-American Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Week Victoria Voronko (Stavropol, Russia-School #42) will run in the 5000m for the first time in the 2013-14 season.
The pentathletes will begin their competition at 12:10 p.m., and will take part in the 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump, and 800m run. Voronko will run the 5000m race at 6:45 p.m.
