Cam Burke qualifies for the Web.com Tour Mid-Atlantic Championship Event

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Former Eastern Michigan University golfer Cam Burke qualified for the Web.com Tour Mid-Atlantic Championship event. The tournament began today, May 30, at 6:50 a.m. and plays through Sunday June 2.  The weekend-long event takes place on TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Potomac, Md.

Burke graduated after the 2010 collegiate season from EMU as one of the top golfers on the team. In the 2009-10 season he averaged 72.8 strokes per round, had 16 rounds of par-or-better, and contributed to an EMU team that held the lowest 18-hole average in the Mid-American Conference. Burke was a selection for first team All-MAC and All-Tournament and was ranked 219th according to the Golfweek/Sagarin system. He posted a record of 1,560-1,122 in his career.

Situated on 220 acres of rolling wooded countryside within the luxurious residential community of Avenel, TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm introduces a new, unique experience to private golf clubs. A recent historic renovation in 2008 helped to blend the time-honored traditions of golf with modern conveniences. The par-70 course hosts 18 holes of picturesque and beautifully maintained golf, an array of amenities, and the personalized service and outstanding privileges that have become synonymous with the PGA Tour's acclaimed TPC Network of clubs.
