– Eagles Darrell Butler (Miami, Fla.-Miami Carroll City) and Daryl Smith (Windsor, Ontario-Vincent Massey S.S.) wrapped up the individual regional events for the Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team at the NCAA East Regional, May 24. Both athletes' seasons end in Greenboro, N.C. as they could not secure their spots to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.

Butler finished 40th in the prelims of the 110-meter hurdles in his second event of the regional meet.

The MAC champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Smith finished the race in 9:26.75 for 41st place.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Cameron Bolton (Missouri City, Texas-Hightower), Jay Saunders (Rochester Hills, Mich.-Rochester), Chris Scott (Holt, Mich.-Holt) and Matthew Williams (Moreno Valley, Calif.-Vista Del Lago) will attempt to represent EMU at nationals as their quarterfinal relay begins at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, May 25.
