YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) –
The Eastern Michigan University baseball team will take on the University of Michigan Tuesday, April 23, at Oestrike Stadium. EMU and UM were originally slated to resume their suspended game from April 17 with a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning. However, the teams will just play a single nine-inning game beginning at 6 p.m. The suspended game will now be made up Tuesday, May 7, at Wilpon Complex in Ann Arbor.

LISTEN UP: Tuesday's action can be heard free of charge on Eagle All-Access (EMUEagles.com/showcase) beginning 10 minutes prior to first pitch. Veteran play-by-play voice Chad Bush will have the call and Adam Kuffner will provide the analysis.

ALL-TIME BREAKDOWN: The Eagles (18-18; 8-7 MAC) swept Michigan (22-16; 8-4 B1G) in a home-and-home series last season, 12-2 at home and 7-2 on the road. In the road victory, April 18, the Eagles feasted on inconsistent Wolverines' pitching, which surrendered eight walks despite giving up only seven hits. EMU also turned a rare triple play in the third inning of that contest.

The two clubs will meet for the 174th time Tuesday, with Michigan holding a 112-60-2 advantage in the all-time series. The Green and White has won the last four meetings dating back to 2011 and is 6-4 against its Washtenaw County rival since Head Coach Jay Alexander took over the program in 2009.

MAYBE IT'S BETTER THIS WAY: Headed into last Wednesday's meeting in Ann Arbor, the Wolverines had been riding a 10-game winning streak. Those good vibes were broken up a bit by Northwestern University, which took two-of-three games from Michigan, April 19-21. Now it is the Eagles who come into the game riding a wave of recent success.

TIES RUN DEEP: Michigan pitching coach Sean Kenny was a two-time All-MAC selection as a pitcher at Eastern Michigan, where he played 1991-93. In 1993, Kenny selected in the 17th round by the New York Mets and played three seasons within the organization. Kenny came over with Erik Bakich from the University of Maryland, where he served as the Terrapins' pitching coach for three seasons.

EAGLES COMPLETE THIRD STRAIGHT SWEEP OF BRONCOS: The Eagles swept Western Michigan University for a third consecutive season Sunday, April 21, at Oestrike Stadium by a score of 7-4.  The Eagles improved their overall record to .500 for the first time since starting the year 1-1 and own a winning record in Mid-American Conference play for the first time as well. EMU has now beaten the Broncos 11 straight times, with WMU's last victory coming April 23, 2010, 5-3.

CALIBUSO GETS FIRST WIN: Reliever Krisitian Calibuso (1-0) pitched scoreless innings in the eighth and ninth to pick up his first win of the year in the Eagles' 7-4 win over WMU, April 21. The victory was also his first since defeating Northern Illinois University in the 2011 MAC Tournament, May 27.

HILL'S NEAR NO-NO: Brian Hill (5-1) carried a no-hitter into the ninth inning and finished with his first complete game as an Eagle in EMU's 7-1 victory over Western Michigan Friday, April 19. In addition, it was Hill's fourth consecutive MAC victory and his first outing as Jay Alexander's Friday starter. The senior lefty posted a two-hitter and was not charged with an earned run.

His no-hit bid lasted 8.1 innings. He also struck out four batters while guiding the Eagles to their first Friday victory in MAC play this year.

RUBINO'S STELLAR WEEKEND: John Rubino had the game winning RBI in the final two games of EMU's sweep over Western Michigan, April 19-21. The sophomore shortstop used his speed to beat out a double-play ball and recorded an RBI to put the Eagles on top for good, 6-5, Saturday. On Sunday, he smacked an RBI double to past the left fielder for what proved to be the winning tally in a 7-4 victory.

For the weekend, Rubino hit .429 (6-for-14) with two doubles and three RBI. He also played flawless defense, turning a pair of double plays Saturday and recording nine assists for the weekend.
