Eagles in Fifth After Two Days at MAC Championships

EMU has scored 256 points after two days of competition
BUFFALO, N.Y. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's swimming team currently sits tied for fifth at the 2013 Mid-American Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.
Leading the championships is Miami University with 456 points, in second is Ohio University with 337, Bowling Green holds third with 327, Buffalo is in fourth with 286, Toledo and Eastern are tied for fifth with 256, Ball State holds seventh at 239 and Akron is eighth with 202.
Briana Emig took third in the 400-individual medley with a 4:21.25, while Jessie Godlewski took 10th with a 4:22.89 final time. Jacquelyn Swartz earned ninth in the 100-butterfly, touching the wall in 55.29 and Meghan Richardson took 11th with a 55.64. Monica Dorszewski and Lauren Kalinosky finished 11-12 in the 100-breaskstroke in 1:03.72 and 1:03.83, respectively. The quartet of Emig, Helena Tolic, Godlewski and Wesley Blassneck completed the 800-freestyle relay in 7:25.33, good for third place.
The final day of competition comes Saturday, March 2, at the Buffalo Natatorium. Action begins at 11 a.m.
