EMU to play Dayton and Oakland at the Chippewa Club

Live Scoring.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team will host a pair of opponents Saturday, Feb 23, inside the Chippewa Racquet Club.  The Eagles will face off with the University of Dayton (5-7) and Oakland University (0-2) at 1 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively.

Head Coach Ryan Ray's team currently stands at 3-6 after falling short to Louisville, Feb 8. Freshman Klara Supejova continued to find singles success upsetting No. 62 nationally ranked Rebecca Shine. Supejova is undefeated in her last seven matches and is now 8-1 in singles play.

The most recent and only time Eastern tennis has played the Flyers of Dayton was back on Feb 3, 2007. EMU traveled to Dayton's Graul Tennis complex and emerged with a 6-1 victory.  The Eagles were able to set the tempo early by winning all three of the doubles matches. The Green and White then put the finishing touches on the win by taking five of six singles matches from the Flyers.

The Eagles last took the court against the Oakland Grizzles in a 7-0 shutout Jan 14, 2012.  That duel, like this Saturday's, was the second act of an EMU doubleheader. Then freshmen, Ankita Bhatia and Daphne Friedrichs won their singles matches after each had a won a singles match earlier in the day.  Eastern leads the all-time series 5-0.
