YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team heads to Blanco, Texas to participate in the Jim West Challenge, Feb. 17-18, hosted by Texas State University. The 12 team, 54-hole tournament will take place at the par 72, 6,100-yard Vaaler Creek Golf Club course.
This is the Eagles first time out in 2013 as they look to start out strong in the second half of the 2011-12 campaign.
The 12 teams competing will include No. 39 Texas State, No. 53 East Tennessee State, No. 94 EMU, No. 98 Arkansas State, No. 102 Middle Tennessee, No. 117 Illinois State, No. 119 Ball State, No. 127 Louisiana Monroe, No. 152 UTEP, No. 155 North Texas, No. 166 William & Mary and No. 168 UMKC.
The tournament will begin Sunday at 8:15 a.m. CT. It will be a shotgun start on Sunday followed immediately by a second round. Monday's final round will also be a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. CT.
