The Eagles advance to 1-0 (1-0 MAC), while the Falcons fall to 0-1 (0-1 MAC). With the win, the Green and White currently have a six-conference dual meet win streak after completing the 2012-13 season unblemished in MAC competition.
The squad nabbed nine first-place finishes out of the afternoon's 16 events against the Falcons. In the distance freestyle events, sophomore Audra Burtch (Goshen, Ind.-Concord) paced all swimmers in the 1000 free, touching in at 10:27.04. In the 500 free, freshman Grace Van Allen (Indianapolis, Ind.-North Central) claimed the winning time with a 5:06.07 mark as Burtch touched in almost immediately after at 5:06.14.
The Eagles also claimed first-place performances in both of the butterfly events. Godlewski was also the first swimmer to touch in for the 200 backstroke at 2:06.53.
Junior Monica Dorszewski (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) and freshman Genna Worthley (Portland, Maine-Deering) dominated both the breaststroke events. Dorszewski churned out two first-place performances in the 100 and 200 breast with times of 1:04.44 and 2:19.48, while Worthley claimed both runner-up finishes with a 1:04.60 mark in the 100 breast and a 2:22.80 mark in the 200 breast.
