Bowling Green comes to Jones Natatorium to take on women's swimming and diving team
Complete Release
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's women's swimming team will take on the Falcons of Bowling Green State University, Saturday, Oct. 25 for the first Mid-American Conference dual meet of the 2013-14 campaign.
The meet will be the 37th meeting between the two squads, with a rivalry dating back to the 1977-1978 season. The Eagles hold the edge over the Falcons with a 21-15 all-time record. In the past 16 dual meets, the Eagles have won every matchup against the Falcons. Last season, the Eagles won by a 166-128 margin, Saturday, Jan. 12, 2012 in Jones Natatorium.
This year, the squad will look to repeat the success of the previous season. The 2012-13 campaign marked the first undefeated conference season since 2000-01 and it also went down in the EMU laurels as the first ever unblemished overall season as the Eagles boasted a record of 7-0 in dual meets.
After a strong showing at Northwestern University against host team NU and the University of Illinois in which the Eagles turned out nine combined first-place performances against the Big Ten opponents, hopes are high for this year's squad to match last season's success.
The meet is slated to start at 1 p.m. in Jones Natatorium. Live results are available through EMUEagles.com.
