EMU will take on Nebraska-Kearney and Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb. this weekend
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team will open its spring season with a trip to Lincoln, Neb. for a pair of matchups. They will take on Nebraska-Kearney Friday, Jan. 11, at 5 p.m., followed by a match with Nebraska Saturday, Jan. 12, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Last season the Eagles traveled to Lincoln but were unable to come away with the win after putting up a good fight against the then No. 29-ranked Huskers. The Eagles have fought against Nebraska for the past three seasons, each time returning home with a 0-7 loss.
The weekend will be a homecoming of sorts for head coach Ryan Ray, an alumnus of the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Ray graduated from Kearney in 1998.
The Eagles finished the 2012 season with an overall record of 9-15, finishing 5-3 in the conference.
