Churchill-Smith Ties for 32nd at Prestigious Monroe Invitational

He was honored on Thursday night at the annual awards banquet

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (EMUEagles.com) — Playing in a star-studded field, Eastern Michigan University men's golfer Brian Churchill-Smith (Oakville, Ontario, Canada-Oakville Trafalgar) finished in a tie for 32nd place Saturday, June 16, at the 72nd Annual Monroe Invitational Championship on the par 70, 6,915 yard Monroe Golf Club.

Churchill-Smith carded a 71 during the opening 18 holes before closing with rounds of 75, 70 and 73.

The University of Illinois' Thomas Pieters won the tournament at eight-under, one shot ahead of the University of the Pacific's Alex Edfort.

Past winners of the Monroe Invitational include the likes of PGA Tour veterans Dustin Johnson, Chris DiMarco and Jeff Sluman.
