Tennis Heads to MAC Championship as No. 4 Seed

EAGLES OPEN MAC CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST BGSU: Head Coach Ryan Ray's Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team heads to DeKalb, Ill. and the campus of Northern Illinois University this weekend, April 26-29, to play in the Mid-American Conference Championship.
The Eagles enter the championship seeded No. 4 and will take on No. 5 seed Bowling Green State University Friday, April 27. Matches will be played on the NIU Courts and DeKalb H.S. courts.
The winner of the EMU-BGSU match will face the winner of No. 1 seed Miami vs. the No. 8 (Toledo)/No. 9 seed (Ball State) on Friday. The winner of that match will advance to the semifinals Saturday, April 28, with the championship final set for Sunday, April 29.
Eastern finished the regular season with a 5-3 record and tied for third in the MAC with Western Michigan. WMU edged the Eagles, 4-3, in the final regular-season dual Saturday, April 21, at EMU to gain the No. 3 seed.
The Eagles split in the final MAC weekend, taking a 4-3 win over Bowling Green Friday, April 20, before dropping the one-point decision to WMU.
