YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team will travel across to Allendale, Mich. to compete in the Al Owens Classic at Grand Valley State University. The competition will start Friday and Saturday, April 20-21 and will be the second trip to GVSU for the EMU women's track team this year.
Events will begin Friday, April 20, at 1 p.m. with the decathlon and will conclude at 3 p.m. with the women's hammer throw and javelin. Saturday will hold the bulk of the competition as the field events will begin at 11 a.m. and continue through 2 p.m. As for the running events, they will begin at 11 a.m. with the short distance races and continue on a rolling schedule.
"We had some strong performances last weekend despite poor weather conditions," remarked head coach Sue Parks. "We hope to keep the momentum going this weekend as we head into the last few meets before the MAC Championship."
