Hitch a Ride With the EMU Fan Bus For the NCAA Tournament

Head to West Lafayette, Ind. for free to watch Eastern take on South Carolina

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team is playing in its second ever NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament game Saturday, March 17, at 11 a.m. against the University of South Carolina Gamecocks in West Lafayette, Ind. and you can get a ride to the action for free with the purchase of a game ticket. Tickets are just $16.

Fans who are looking for a ride to Mackey Arena can travel on the Trinity Transportation Fan Bus, free of charge, but seats are limited. To reserve a spot call the EMU Ticket Office at 734.487.2282. The bus will depart at 5 a.m., Saturday morning from the Convocation Center.

For fans who cannot make it to the game can follow all of the behind the scenes action, including photos and gameday updates by keeping up with the #EMUHoops hashtag on Twitter. Also, fans that would like meet with other Eagle faithful are encouraged to head to Buffalo Wild Wings of Ypsilanti located at 216 James L Hart Pkwy to watch the Green and White take on the Gamecocks as the official postseason headquarters of EMU women's basketball.

Eastern, 23-8 overall, is appearing in the NCAA Championships for the second time in program history and the first time since 2004.  The Eagles have an all-time record of 0-1 in NCAA tourney games after losing to Boston College, March 20, 2004, on a last second shot, 58-56.

The Green and White went 13-3 in Mid-American Conference regular-season play this year, earning a share of the MAC West Division title.  The Eagles were awarded the two-seed for the MAC Tournament and received a 'triple bye' to the semifinals. EMU edged the University of Toledo in its semifinal matchup, 59-57, at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. In the finals, Eastern topped the Central Michigan University Chippewas, 72-71, when senior Paige Redditt (Kansas City, Mo.-Belton) dropped a shot through the twine with 1.5 seconds remaining on the clock to garner their entrance into the NCAA Championship.
