Emig Earns MAC Swimmer of the Week Honors

The senior garnered her first swimmer of the week honors of the season and third of her career

CLEVELAND, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Briana Emig of the Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving team was recently named the Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week by the league office today, Oct. 31. The award is the third of her career.

Senior freestyle swimmer Briana Emig helped Eastern Michigan to a season opening victory Saturday, Oct. 27, in a Mid-American Conference dual-meet. Emig led the Eagles with four first-place finishes. She took the 1,000-freestyle in 10:22.15, the 200-freestyle in 1:51.04, the 500-freestyle in 4:58.78 and was a member of the 400-freestyle relay who won in 3:30.78. Her 1:51.04 tied the best finish of her career in the 200-freestyle.

The Eagles hit the water again Friday, Nov. 2, when they travel to Wayne State University for a 5 p.m. meet.
