EMU head out in search of first MAC title

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University Women's Cross Country team will head to Buffalo this weekend for Saturday's 2012 Mid-American Conference Championship.

The Eagles have made a point of emphasis to improve on last years fifth place finish at the Championships.  The Eagles are looking to move into the top-three and run competitively against Toledo, who are ranked #20 nationally and fourth in the Great Lakes Region.

The Eagles, 13th in the Great Lakes Region, will be led by sophomore Victoria Voronko and senior Morgan Churchwell, who have consistently been the top two EMU runners in 2012.  Voronko will be competing for the individual title with a group of Toledo runners as she looks to improve on her 2011 fourth place finish.

The Championship gun will fire at 11 AM on Saturday, October 27th at 11AM when the women will take off in the 6K, followed by the men's 8K at noon.
