Eagles win all six singles and all three doubles matches

MADISON, Wisc. (EMUEagles.com) — Head Coach Ryan Ray's Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team turned in its second straight shutout with a 7-0 win over the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay here in a dual match Friday, Jan. 20, indoors in the Nielsen Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin.

With only four courts available, the teams played singles first and EMU jumped to the 6-0 lead after singles was completed.

The teams then moved into doubles play and Eastern captured the one doubles point by capturing all three doubles matchups.

“We did a great job of getting out to big leads in the singles,  that was played first,”, EMU's Ray said of his team's effort.  “ We never looked back after that, and finished the job well.  We will need a strong collective effort to get the win against the University of Wisconsin in the morning.”

The Eagles are now 2-1 on the young season and will meet the University of Wisconsin in a dual match Saturday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m. in the Nielsen Tennis Center.
