Abrham, Scott and Babits all fail to qualify
Day 2 Results
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – Day two of the 2011 NCAA Track and Field Outdoor East Regional Prelims didn't end as successfully as the Eastern Michigan University men's and women's track teams would have hoped, as none of the three Eagles competing on the day, Friday, May 27, advanced to nationals.
Ashlee Abraham finished 27th overall in the women's 200-meter dash, just three spots and eight hundredths of a second behind the final qualifier, who posted a time of 24.16.
Freshman triple jumper Donald Scott was also on the wrong side of the finalists pool as he had a jump of 48-04.50 to finish 35th.
Max Babits, along with 10 other competitors, recorded a no height in the pole vault after failing to successfully complete a vault, as he competed for the Eagles on the day as well.
Eastern Michigan will compete in one final event, the women's 4x400-meter relay, in an attempt to qualify four more in addition to Jessica Hemingway, who qualified yesterday, May 26, in the pole vault.
