Tennis looks to stay perfect at home in the process

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team will host its Mid-American Conference home opener today as the Eagles look to remain perfect at home on the season against the Northern Illinois University.

After a three-match win streak to close out January and begin February, EMU has been flip-floping wins and losses over its previous 10 matches. If the trend holds true, the Eagles would bounce back from a loss against Miami for a win over the Huskies this afternoon.

» WHAT'S ON TAP: At 1 p.m. on Friday, April 1, the Eagles will host the Huskies of Northern Illinois at the Chippewa Racquet Club in EMU's Mid-American Conference home opener. It will also be NIU's MAC opener.

» SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION:
The Huskies are just 2-8 on the season, and has not traveled very far from home for any of its matches this season. All 10 of Northern's matches have been played in three states (Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin), with half of the matches being played in nearby Rockford, Ill.

» THE SERIES: The Eagles and Huskies will meet for the 31st time on April 1, 2011. Eastern is currently ahead, 24-6, in the W-L column after sufferring a 5-2 loss to NIU on March 27, 2010, in the club's previous matchup.
