Eastern was unable to take down the RedHawks as they extend their MAC regular season unbeaten streak to 19 matches
HALMITON, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – It was a rough day on the courts for the Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team as the squad dropped a match, 6-1, to the defending Mid-American Conference champion Miami RedHawks. With the loss, Eastern evens its record to 8-8 overall (1-1 MAC) and Miami advances to 11-5 and 2-0 in conference play.
The Eagles started off the day by winning the opening doubles match as Miriam Westerink and Nino Mebuke defeated the No. 66 ranked doubles team in the nation in Stephanie Danesis/Megan Martzolf. The duo earned an 8-6 victory.
Aside from that win, the only other victory the Eagles managed on the day was in the No. 6 singles spot as Georgia de'Lisle-Tarr took down the RedHawks' Cara Wild in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 10-6.
