Rowers Wrap Up Spring Season Opener at Clemson

The Eagles were swept in all three races by the Tigers
CLEMSON, S.C. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University rowing team opened its 2010 season against the Clemson University Tigers on Saturday, March 6, on Lake Hartwell, as the Eagles were swept in all three races by the Tigers.
In the Varsity 8+ race between the top teams from Eastern Michigan and Clemson, the Eagles posted a time of 7:27.98, while the Tigers finished just ahead with a time of 7:03.31.
The second race of the afternoon featured the third Varsity 8+ rowers, and EMU finished with a time of 8:15.21, while Clemson crossed the finish line first with a time of 7:30.78.
The third and final race of the afternoon was between the second Varsity 8+ boats from each squad, and the Eagles finished the race with a time of 7:42.71, while the Tigers completed the sweep with a time of 7:04.18.
The Eastern Michigan rowers are back in action Sunday, March 28 when they take on the University at Buffalo, Purdue University, Indiana University and the University Notre Dame in Indianapolis, Ind.
