Rowers Complete Competition at Indiana Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's rowing team had a tough outing, Sunday, March 28, as the squad finished fifth out of five teams in each of its four races at Indiana Invitational on a rainy day at Eagle Creek in Indianapolis, Ind.

Competing against the University of Notre Dame, Indiana University, Purdue University and the University at Buffalo, the Eagles posted a time of 7:45.1 in the First Varsity 8 race.

The team faired better in the Second Varsity 8 row, but still fell short, posting a time of 8:02.3, just 13 seconds behind the Boilermakers. A 9:13.7 clip in the First Varsity 4 race, and a 9:33.9 finish in the First Novice 8 race completed the Eagles' day.

Eastern Michigan will return to the waters Saturday, April 3, for the Lubbers Cup Regatta in Grand Rapids, Mich.
