Senior earns his second career weekly conference accolade
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University senior golfer Cam Burke (Baden, Ontario-Waterloo Secondary) was named Mid-American Conference tri-Golfer of the Week for the period ending March 31. He shares the award with Kent State University's Mackenzie Hughes and Bowling Green State University's Matt Schneider.
This marks the second time in his career that he has collected the weekly award.
Burke finished as the runner-up with a four-under 209 at the FAU Spring Break Championship, March 26-28, as Illinois' Chris DeForest won individual medalist honors. The runner-up showing marks Burke's third career top-five finish, and his first since placing third at last year's Spring Break Championship, March 27-29, 2009, with a two-under 211 (64-75-72). Additionally, his back-to-back rounds of 69 pushed his career rounds at par-or-better to 25 in just 92 attempts.
EMU finished in fourth place among some of the nation's elite during the second-annual FAU Spring Break Championship on the 6,722-yard, par-71 Gleneagles Country Club.
