EMU Releases the 2010 Football Schedule

Eagles to open the season at home against Army, Sept. 4
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University football team will have an eight-game Mid-American Conference schedule and non-conference games with Army, Ohio State, Vanderbilt and Virginia in its 2010 schedule announced today, March 1.
The Eagles are scheduled to play three of their non-conference games on the road with trips to Ohio State, Saturday, Sept. 25, Vanderbilt Saturday, Oct. 9, and Virginia Saturday, Oct. 23. The Eagles will open the season for the second consecutive time with a non-conference home game against Army Saturday, Sept. 4, in Rynearson Stadium.
On the MAC front the Eagles will host Central Michigan Saturday, Sept. 18, Ohio Saturday, Oct. 2, Toledo Saturday, Oct. 30, and Northern Illinois Friday, Nov. 26, in Rynearson. League road games will see the Eagles travel to Miami Saturday, Sept. 11, Ball State Saturday, Oct. 16, Western Michigan Saturday, Nov. 13, and Buffalo Saturday, Nov. 20.
EMU will have an open date Saturday, Nov. 6.
Four of the Eagles' 2010 opponents appeared in bowl games in 2009. Central Michigan won the GMAC Bowl with a 44-41 double overtime thriller over Troy; Ohio State captured a 26-17 win over Oregon in the Rose Bowl, Ohio fell to Marshall, 21-17, in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl and Northern Illinois dropped a 27-3 decision to South Florida in the International Bowl.
