STRONG START: EMU's 11-11 record this season is the best start since the 1999-2000 squad went 12-10 in its first 22 games.

CHECKING THE SERIES WITH OHIO: The Eagles and Bobcats are meeting for the 64th time and Ohio holds a 42-21 advantage in the series that began in 1972-73. Ohio won last year's matchup, 57-45, Feb. 7, 2009, in Athens, Ohio. EMU won the previous year, recording a 63-56 win, Feb. 6, 2008, in Ypsilanti, Mich.
Head Coach Charles E. Ramsey's Eagles enter Saturday's, Feb. 6, game with an 11-11 overall record and a 3-6 MAC mark after dropping a 75-68 home-court decision to MAC East Division leader Kent State Thursday, Feb. 4.
Head Coach John Groce's Bobcats enter Saturday's, Feb. 6, game with a 12-10 overall record and a 3-5 MAC mark after a 65-58 overtime win at Toledo, Feb. 4.

EAGLES IN EAST DIVISION PLAY: After starting the Mid-American Conference season with five straight West Division opponents, the Eagles are now five games into a six-game slate against cross-divisional rivals. EMU opened the foray into East territory with a 64-61 home loss to Bowling Green, Jan. 27, followed by a 61-51 setback at Miami, Jan. 30. The Eagles then came up with a thrilling, 62-59, win on the road in East co-leader Akron's Rhodes Arena, Feb. 1, before dropping a 75-68 decison to East Division leader Kent State, Feb. 4. EMU now has Ohio, Feb. 6, and closes out the East Division regular-season schedule, Feb. 10, at Buffalo.

BRACKET BUSTER TRIP TO DETROIT: EMU has drawn the University of Detroit for its Bracket Buster game, Feb. 20. The Eagles will travel to Detroit to meet the Titans in a 3:35 p.m. tilt. U-D holds a 59-18 advantage in the series and the Titans won a 62-47 decision in the last outing, Nov. 22, 2008. Detroit has won the last seven straight with the last EMU win an 82-80 home victory, Dec. 30, 1999.

MEDLOCK, DOBBINS, BOWDRY CLIMB EMU CAREER LADDERS: The EMU trio of Carlos Medlock (Detroit, Mich.-Murray Wright), Justin Dobbins (Cleveland, Ohio-Glenville), and Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) are all making major moves up the EMU career rankings in scoring, rebounding, three-point shooting, assists and free-throw shooting. Medlock is now 14th in career scoring with 1,363, just the 15th player in school history to reach 1,300 points. Bowdry is 23rd at 1,089 and Dobbins is 33rd with 958. Bowdry has 618 career rebounds for 13th and is just the 13th player in school history to reach the 600-rebound mark. Dobbins is 23rd in rebounding with 476 and Medlock is tied for 65th at 280. Medlock is fourth in three-point shooting with 183 career triples, just two behind current EMU Assistant Coach Carl Thomas. Medlock is eighth in career assists at 356 and is seventh in free throws made with 388.

EVEN STEVEN: Through 22 games this season the Eagles are deadlocked in points scored, 1,450, and points allowed, 1,450.

TWO IN DOUBLES: Despite a 75-68 loss to the Mid-American Conference East Division leading Kent State University Golden Flashes Thursday, Feb. 4, the Eagles had two players turn in double-double scoring-rebounding performances. Senior forward Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) had 15 points with 10 rebounds while senior center Justin Dobbins (Cleveland, Ohio-Glenville) scored 11 points with 10 boards. In addition, senior guard Carlos Medlock (Detroit, Mich.-Murray Wright) scored a game-high 22 points against KSU.

18th DOUBLE-DOUBLE FOR BOWDRY: Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) turned in the 18th double-double of his career and the 11th this season with 15 points and 10 rebounds in a 75-68 loss at home to Kent State, Feb. 4.
