Doubles Turns Out Strong Day Two Performances

All singles fall in semis
The team of Celine Donnet and Georgia de'Lisle-Tarr dominated a N. Colorado duo, as they took the match 8-0 in the Flight 3 bout. In the quarterfinalist consolation match, it was Xu Chang and Mariya Toncheva who defeated UNC-Greensboro, 9-7, and Nino Mebuke and Miriam Westerink defeated a ColoradoState duo, 8-3, in the Flight 1 Quarterfinalist Consolation.
Singles competition didn't fare as well as it did on Day 1, with the Eagles falling in all four of the semifinals matches. Westerink and Mebuke managed to win consolation matches for EMU.
“Our doubles intensity was much better today and it's no secret the results were better,” said EMU Head Coach Ryan Ray. “It was disappointing to not convert any of our semifinal appearances, but I thought that Mariya and Marcela competed well in their close losses. We have one more day to improve and hopefully convert those semifinals loses into third place finishes.”
