NASHPORT, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- After the first round of play at the 2010 Mid-American Conference Fall Preview Monday, Oct. 18, the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team is in fourth place, 12 strokes back of the top spot with a score of 308.

Leading the way for the Eagles was senior Darby Peters (Lake Orion, Mich.-Lake Orion) finished the day tied for sixth place with a four-over par 76. Classmate Robyn Scott (Auckland, New Zealand-Westlake Girls-Texas Tech Univ.) is just one stroke behind with a 77. Sophomore Sarah Johnson (Wixom, Mich.-Walled Lake Central) fired a 81 for a tie for 22nd place and sophomore Meredith Fairbairn (Orangeville, Ontario-Westside Secondary School) added an 86 for 41st place. Rounding out the EMU rotation, redshirt freshman Alyssa Kwon (Richmond Hills, Ontario-Richmond Hills) posted a 90 for 53rd place tie.

Competing as individuals, freshmen Usanee Laopattananont (Bangplee, Thailand-Thai Christian School) and Corey Crossan (London, Ontario-Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School) finished with an 84 and an 86, respectively.

Western Michigan and Akron currently stand at first and second place with overall scores of 308 and 309 respectively. Akron's Hannah Ek leads the event, currently at one-under par with a 71 overall, while Bowling Green's Susannah Grunden and Ball State's Brittany Kelly stand tied for second place with equal scores of 74.

Eastern Michigan currently sits at fourth place with a score of 320, while Toledo and Ball State finished tied for fifth with 321. Xavier finished 7th with a 324, Bowling Green and Northern Illinois finished tied for eight with a 338, and Cleveland State rounded out the list at 10th place with a 349.

Final-round action is set to begin Tuesday morning at the Longaberger Golf Club.
