ERIE, Colo. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University golf team climbed to sixth place on the final day of the Heather Farr Memorial Tournament, finishing at 932 (303-316-313) at the Colorado National Golf Club. Fifteenth-ranked Colorado, also the host of the tournament, won by 16 shots over Colorado State with 893 (290-300-303).
Jessica Wallace of Colorado came from behind to win the individual title. In eighth place at the start of the day, she shot the best round by three shots with an even-par 72. Wallace finished at six-over par 220 (73-75-72).
Seniors Darby Peters (Lake Orion, Mich.-Lake Orion) and Robyn Scott (Auckland, New Zealand-Westlake Girls-Texas Tech Univ.) finished tied for sixth place with a 226. Freshman Usanee Laopattananont (Bangplee, Thailand-Thai Christian School) posted a 239 (77-82-80) for 36th place. Rounding out the lineup, Alyssa Kwon (Richmond Hills, Ontario-Richmond Hills) and Meredith Fairbairn (Orangeville, Ontario-Westside Secondary School) finished tied for 41st and 59th place, respectively.
Head Coach Sandy Wagner's crew will head to the Mid-American Conference Preview, Oct. 18-19, at Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.
