Seven Rowers Earn National Scholar Athlete Accolades

EMU places seven on the National Scholar Athlete list.

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced the scholar athletes for the 2009 season, and the Eastern Michigan University rowing team had seven student-athletes earn National Scholar Athlete accolades after their stellar performances both in the classroom and in the water.
Juniors Heather Anderson (St. Catharines, Ontario-Holy Cross Secondary), Kate Dirks (St. Catharines, Ontario-Eden), Kristen Dunkin (Tipp City, Ohio-Tippecanoe), Anamarie Esteva (Ann Arbor, Mich.- Gabriel Richard), Noel McAuliffe (Goodrich, Mich.-Goodrich), Janelle Mitchell (Chicago, Ill.-Morgan Park), and senior Beth Logsdon (Port Clinton, Ohio-Port Clinton) all picked up National Scholar Athlete accolades.
To be eligible, the student-athlete must maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher for her career (through the fall semester/quarter for the current competition year).
