Baseball's Start Time Against Toledo Thursday Pushed Back

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The start time for Eastern Michigan University's second round contest in the 2009 Mid-American Conference Tournament Thursday, May 21, has been pushed back due to a major power outage last night in Chillicothe, Ohio. EMU's contest will now be the fifth and final game of the day with an expect start time around 9:50 p.m.
Wednesday's final game between No. 1 seed Bowling Green State University and No. 8 seed Central Michigan University was suspended in the fourth inning when a nearby power substation exploded. The Falcons and Chippewas resumed action at 9 a.m. Thursday morning, with the second-seeded Ball State Cardinals and third-seeded Ohio Bobcats set to face each other 35 minutes after the completion of the first game at VA Memorial Stadium.

Chad Bush will provide the play-by-play with Greg Steiner, Dan Wyar and Chris Puzzuoli serving as the analysts. The production is a combined effort between the EMU Media Relations Office and Internet Consulting Services, Inc.
The eight-team tournament features a bracket of two pools, with the with the winner of each double-elimination pool meeting in a one-game, winner take all championship game. The bracketing reflects the College World Series format as played in Omaha, Neb.
