Rowing Finishes Season at South/Central Sprints

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – The Eastern Michigan University rowing team wrapped up action Sunday morning, May 17, at the South/Central Sprints in Oak Ridge, Tenn., as the Eagles' placed 12th overall in the Central Region with 18 points after action this weekend. Overall, the Eagles bested out Duke University and the Oklahoma University, who each tallied zero points over the weekend.
In the second varsity eight D Final, the Eagles were edged out by the Mustangs of Southern Methodist University, as EMU finished with a time of 7:07.40, while SMU took home the top spot with a time of 6:48.40.
In the varsity eight D Final, the Eagles finished just behind the Crimson Tide of the University of Alabama, as the Eagles finished with a time of 6:46.50, while Alabama just beat the Eagles with a time of 6:33.70.
The University of Michigan took home the Central Region crown with 348 points, while the University of Virginia won the South Region crown with 387 points.
