PALO ALTO, Calif—The Eastern Michigan University women's track team made the trek out west for the 2009 Stanford Invitational Friday and Saturday, March 27-28 and the San Francisco State University Relay Carnival.
 
The Eagles were led by sophomore Beverly Elcock (Ft. Wayne, Ind.-Northrop) who hit an NCAA Regional qualifying time in the 800 meters, running an outdoor personal-best time of 2:09.61, to finish fourth in her heat.
 
In other events, freshman Rachel Hollinger-Janzen (Goshen, Ind.-Goshen) finished with a time of 36:23.02 to place 18th in the 10,000-meters. Melissa Green (Brecksville, Ohio-Brecksville/Broadview Heights) clocked a time of 11:42.77 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to finish 15th in the second section.
 
At the San Francisco State University Relay Carnival freshman Natalie Webb (Allendale, Mich.-Woodhaven) crossed the line with a time of 18:39.48 in the 5,000 meters to finish 23rd.
 
The Eagles will return home to travel to Mount Pleasant, Mich. to take on instate and Mid-American Conference rivals Central Michigan University and Western Michigan University.
