KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 Mid-American Conference decision to No. 72 Western Michigan University Friday afternoon, March 27, at the WMU Sorensen Courts. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 3-12 (0-3 MAC) on the season, while the Broncos improve to 15-5 (2-0 MAC).
“Western Michigan Played very well today and we made some errors to make their job a little easier at times,” said head coach Ryan Ray. “We need to get sharper as we move through a critical stretch of the conference schedule in the next few weeks.”
The Eagles found themselves down early, conceding the doubles point to the Broncos after losing all three doubles matches. Eastern was not able to find a groove in singles as Western was able to capitalize on some mistakes to take the six singles points.
The Eagles will jump right back into action, taking on MAC foe Bowling Green State University Saturday, March 28, at the Keefe Tennis Courts in Bowling Green, Ohio. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
