Eagles return to action Feb. 25 against FGCU
TAMPA, Fla.- The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 69 University of South Florida Monday, Feb. 23.
“Miriam put in a solid performance today, however, we need to get more balance across the board to win matches,” said head coach Ryan Ray. “We'll keep working on it."
The Eagles fell behind early, as the Bulls took the 1-0 advantage coming out of doubles play.
In singles, freshman Miriam Westerink (Rheden, The Netherlands / Thomas a Kempis) at the No. 1 flight defeated Jessica Zok in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4, to take the Eagles' lone point.
EMU returns to action in Florida to take on Florida Gulf Coast University Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m.
